How his skills in Photography helped him as a Cook
Riyan learning the basics of Food Photography
He has such a long and attentive journey in ISMAYA. He has been a steward, a part-timer, and now a Cook Helper, but that doesn’t stop his love and passion for photography and somehow it is like two worlds colliding into each other.
“ISMAYA has so many monthly classes, but one in particular that attracted my attention was the food photography class. As a chef and a photography enthusiast, it expanded my interest to learn how to take a good photo of food,” he said.
Through the food photography class provided by the company, he learned the basic knowledge of how to take good photo angles, and good lighting and maximize the cameras we have on hand. He stated, "In my opinion, food is the best model to vent our hobbies because we have free control over it."

To Riyan, his photography skills as a Cook are helpful for him to capture and share to social media – his memorable moments of the team, the current situation in the kitchen, and also the food, which in the end can attract customers to come to the restaurant. That is why he wishes for more classes like food photography that can help boost both his skills and occupation.
“I hope ISMAYA can progress further and be more successful, with training and classes being held, hopefully, the employees can gain more insight into knowledge, and hopefully the training and classes that will be held will continue exist and consistently provide knowledge for all of us,” Ryan said.
It is such a joy to hear how Riyan found a way to grow both his passions and hobbies in one place at the same time. His experience proved that some passions and occupations can be like two peas in a pod, even though it looks different but both can have an impact on one another.
