Trip to the cattle farm
Chef Dwi and the rest of the representatives were greeted with a warm welcome and were given the tour by Mr. Richard, Manager of Pritchitts Lakeland Dairies, and Mr. Marcus, Southeast Asia Manager.
Touring all over the cattle farm to see the agriculture
The cattle farm contained up to 400 cows, where they were fed with high-nutrition food and cared for very well. They were also shown how milk is squeezed and then processed in a very high-tech factory so it could be turned into various kinds of dairy products such as cheese and cooking cream.
“The technology that Ireland uses for their farms and factories is so inspiring, and Indonesia should definitely take notes so we can upgrade our agriculture to be as advanced as Ireland,” said Chef Dwi.
Cream workshop and new recipes
Apart from touring around the dairy farm and factory, Chef Dwi and other colleagues were invited to take part in the Cream Workshop, where during the break they were all given Mexican Style Hot Chocolate and Butter Shortbread drinks.
They also met with the 3 main chefs at the dairy company and were given exciting new recipe concept ideas and had the opportunity to taste both of these recipes.
Once in a lifetime experience at Hillsborough Castle
They were also invited to Hillsborough Castle, the official residence of the Royal Family, when visiting Northern Ireland. They all had dinner with many Government persons and the Senior Lakeland Dairies Manager, where they shared their own insights and experiences.

The main purpose of it all
Chef Dwi with the other representative from Indonesia and Malaysia
From this experience, Chef Dwi believes that not only Indonesian agriculture needs great support in technology, but he also thinks that,
“As a chef, I want to keep learning so I can give the best to all customers. Because in the end, the process of making good food is my responsibility.”
What a compelling story that Chef Dwi Astono has shared with us. So what do you think of his experience, Troops?
